US standard is 3.5ร2 inches (89ร51mm); ISO standard is 85ร55mm. For your print-ready canvas:
- Final size: 89ร51mm (US)
- Bleed area: 3mm each side, so canvas is 95ร57mm
- Safe area: keep text 5mm in from edges (79ร41mm zone)
- Resolution: 300dpi for print = 1051ร602px
๐ก Critical: cards get trimmed close to the edge and can shift slightly. Keep text 5mm inside. Skip this and your text gets cut off.

Style 1: Minimal (startup default)
White background, black text, nothing else. Hardest to mess up. Only works if the paper stock is nice.
Layout:
- Front: name (big, centered), title (small), company
- Back: email, phone, address, website
Generous whitespace. Don't cram every piece of info. Align left or center.
Style 2: QR-code card (tech startups)
Current trend. Recipients scan the QR and the contact saves automatically. A paper card that's also a digital business card.

โ ๏ธ Common mistakes
- Text too small: below 8pt is unreadable when printed. 10pt+ recommended
- RGB design: monitors are RGB but print is CMYK. Reds can come out brown. Have the print shop convert
- Low-res images: 72dpi web images go blurry on print. Use 300dpi+
- Ignored bleed: text too close to the edge gets cut off
