Email Signature Design (First Impression)

Send 20 emails a day = 7,300 signature impressions per year. 5-minute investment, lifetime payoff.

πŸ“ The 5 essentials

  1. Name + title
  2. Company name + logo
  3. Email + phone
  4. Website or LinkedIn
  5. (Optional) calendar booking link (Calendly)

🎨 4 principles of a good signature

1. Under 4 lines

Long signatures get skipped. On mobile, if signature is half the email, recipient annoyed.

2. Profile photo or logo

Face = trust. Round-mask via the Rounded Corners tool.

3. Consistent color

One brand color. 7 colors = chaos.

4. Mobile-friendly

Image width under 200px. Font 14px+ (smaller = unreadable).

πŸ›  How to build it

  • Need a logo? Gradient Text for a wordmark
  • Profile pic prep: Rounded Corners "Circle (profile)" preset
  • Divider: CSS Divider gradient-fade style
  • Gmail: Settings β†’ Signature, edit HTML directly

⚠️ Common mistakes

  1. Long disclaimers ("this email may be confidential..."): skip unless legally required
  2. 10 social icons: keep 1–2 you actually use
  3. "Sent from my iPhone": nobody needs to know your device
  4. Blurry logo: use 200Γ—200+ resolution
