How fish-eye works

Fish-eye lenses have 180°+ FoV. Edges curve, like a fish's eye. This tool non-linearly maps pixel coordinates by radius. Positive = convex (fish-eye), negative = concave (pinch). Mimics what GoPro / 360° cameras do optically.

FAQ

Filled with background color (black / white look natural).

Concave distortion?

Negative value — image pulled toward center (opposite fish-eye).

vs real lens?

Real = light refraction; this = coordinate remap. Visually nearly identical.
